A teenager has died after a reported stabbing in an Abbotsford park Sunday evening, prompting a homicide investigation and the arrest of two other teens.
The Abbotsford Police Department says officers responded to reports of a stabbing at Larch Park—located in the 2600 block of Beck Road—shortly after 7:30 p.m. PT. When they arrived, they found a male teen with critical injuries.
Despite the efforts of bystanders and emergency responders, the victim did not survive.
Police say two suspects, also teenagers, were arrested at the scene or nearby. Early evidence suggests the attack was targeted, though no specific motive has been shared.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now taken over the case. Investigators are asking anyone who was in or near Larch Park between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday—or who may have dashcam footage from the area—to contact IHIT directly.
Authorities have not released the identities or exact ages of those involved. The investigation is ongoing.
