Metro Vancouver Transit Police are appealing to the public for help as they investigate an alleged sexual assault reported in East Vancouver.

In a statement released Friday evening, police said investigators are looking for anyone who may have been in the area of Stainsbury Avenue, between Victoria Drive and Walker Street, on Tuesday, May 26.

Police are specifically seeking dashcam footage from vehicles travelling through the area between 3:30 p.m. and 3:55 p.m. that day. Officers are also hoping to speak with pedestrians or other witnesses who may have seen anything relevant during that time.

Police Say No Ongoing Public Risk

Transit police did not release further details about the alleged incident, including the circumstances surrounding the report or whether any suspect information is available.

However, investigators said they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.

The limited information released suggests police are still working to gather evidence and establish a clearer timeline of what happened.

Investigators Ask Public to Come Forward

Anyone who was walking, driving, or otherwise in the area during the time frame is being urged to contact Metro Vancouver Transit Police.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 604-515-8300 or text 87-77-77, quoting file number 2026-13363.
