Police in northern British Columbia are investigating the death of a man found on the edge of a rural road near Mackenzie, about 180 kilometres north of Prince George.
Mounties say the man’s body was discovered on Saturday morning near the Litnit Creek bridge on the Finlay Community Connector Forest Service Road.
The Mackenzie RCMP received a call reporting a man "lying on the edge of the roadway," and responding officers found him deceased upon arrival.
The North District Major Crime Unit, in partnership with local police and the B.C. Coroners Service, is now leading the investigation into what is being treated as a suspicious death.
Police are urging anyone who was in the area of the forest service road between 9 p.m. PT Friday and 10 a.m. PT Saturday to come forward with information or dash-camera footage.
Anyone with details that could assist the investigation is asked to contact the Mackenzie RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
