FBI Offers $1M Reward for Alleged Gang Leader Linked to Killing of B.C. Sikh Activist

The FBI is offering a $1-million US reward for information leading to the arrest of an alleged senior member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who has been accused of ordering the 2023 killing of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, B.C.

Satinderjeet Singh, better known as Goldy Brar, has also been added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.

U.S. authorities allege Brar has played a leading role in a transnational criminal network linked to murders, kidnappings, extortion, assaults and drug trafficking.

“He joins the notorious Top 10 list because he is considered extremely violent and an enemy to the public,” Patrick Grandy, assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office, said Monday.

“We have made it a priority to apprehend him.”

The allegations against Brar have not been proven in court.

Brar Charged in Connection With Nijjar Killing

Brar was named in a U.S. indictment released this summer as part of a broader cross-border investigation involving several India-linked organized crime groups.

He was charged in July over allegations that he ordered Nijjar’s killing.

Nijjar, a prominent Sikh separatist activist, was shot and killed by masked gunmen in June 2023 in the parking lot of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey.

The killing later became a major source of diplomatic tension between Canada and India.

Then-prime minister Justin Trudeau said Canadian intelligence agencies had identified credible links between agents of the Indian government and Nijjar’s killing.

India has repeatedly denied involvement.

FBI Calls Brar Bishnoi’s ‘Right-Hand Man’

U.S. authorities allege Lawrence Bishnoi continues to direct his criminal organization while incarcerated in India, using smuggled mobile phones and trusted associates to manage operations.

The FBI alleges Brar is one of Bishnoi’s most important lieutenants and oversees much of the organization’s activity in North America.

RCMP Deputy Commissioner Lisa Moreland said Brar’s alleged network has been tied to violence and intimidation affecting numerous communities.

“Goldy Brar and his network have wreaked devastating havoc to so many lives and families for years — through high-profile murders, shootings, death threats, extortions, arsons and drug trafficking,” Moreland said during Monday’s announcement.

“His addition to this prominent and very public list means the world just became a whole lot smaller.”

Authorities Say Brar May Be in Canada or U.S.

The FBI describes Brar as armed and dangerous.

Grandy said authorities believe he has lived in California as well as various parts of Canada.

His addition to the FBI’s most-wanted list significantly increases the international attention surrounding the search for him.

Canada designated the Bishnoi gang as a terrorist organization in 2025, accusing the group of threatening and intimidating members of diaspora communities.

Public Asked to Submit Tips

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Brar’s location to contact the FBI.

The agency is offering up to $1 million US for information that directly leads to his arrest.

“This man holds no loyalty, nor should others feel any loyalty towards him,” Moreland said.

She noted that another Canadian who had previously been placed on the FBI’s most-wanted list, Ryan Wedding, is now in custody.

The investigation into Brar and the wider alleged criminal network remains ongoing.
